Ms Nonhlanhla Helen Makhuba was first elected to Parliament as a representative of the Inkatha Freedom Party in 2009. She served on the Portfolio Committee for Communications and as an alternate member on the committees for Health, Water and Environmental Affairs. ​

​She is a long-time resident of Soweto and holds a diploma in Financial Management and an advanced certificate in Credit Management.​​​​​ She is currently the MMC for Transport in the City of Johannesburg.
