Deputy Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes that several South African choirs recently took part in the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia;
2) acknowledges that more than 450 choirs from 60 nations were judged by 80 jurors during the course of the competition;
3) further acknowledges that the participating choirs from our country performed exceptionally well, and that there were several South African youth choirs that outperformed the competition;
4) congratulates the Stellenbosch University Choir for winning the devotional category, the spiritual category and the mixed choirs category with 99%, the highest percentage ever achieved by any choir in this category;
5) further congratulates the Southern Cape Children's Choir for being crowned the Musica Sacra champions and for winning gold in the children's choir category;
6) applauds the University of Pretoria's Camerata for achieving an incredible 95.25% in the mixed choir category;
7) further applauds the Tygerberg Children's Choir on winning double gold in the devotional singing category and the children's choir category; and
8) thanks these choirs for flying the South African flag high and for once again showcasing the wealth of talent that we have in this country.
