Acting Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes that on 24 October 1945, the United Nations came into force;
2) further notes that since 1948, the event's anniversary has been known as United Nations Day and is an occasion to highlight, celebrate and reflect on the work of the United Nations and its family of specialised agencies;
3) acknowledges that United Nations Day has traditionally been marked throughout the world with meetings, discussions and exhibits about the achievements and goals of the organisation; and
4) urges everyone to resolve to do more to protect those caught up in armed conflict, to fight climate change, avert nuclear catastrophe, expand opportunities for women and girls, and to combat injustice and impunity.
Agreed to.
