Mr Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House-
1) notes with profound sadness the untimely death of the Polish president Lech Kaczynski and his wife, Maria, as well as 95 others in a plane crash in Western Russia on Saturday, 10 April 2010;
2) recalls that Kaczynski, his wife and a Polish delegation, including the Head of the Reserve Bank, the Army Chief and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, were travelling to Russia for the 70th anniversary of the Soviet massacre of Polish army officers in the village of Katyn when their plane crashed at Smolensk Airport as it tried to land in heavy fog; and
3) conveys its deepest sympathy to the people of Poland, and its prayers and thoughts go out to the Polish nation during their time of mourning.
