Tabled Committee Report

While on an oversight visit to various small harbours in the Western Cape and Robben Island, the Committee met to consider and adopt its report on Budget Vote 13: Public Works and Infrastructure. The report was adopted without substantive amendments.

The Committee aims to visit the Saldanha Bay, Yzerfontein, Hout Bay, Kalk Bay, Gordon’s Bay small harbours, and Robben Island (including Murray’s Bay Harbour). This is a follow-up visit from the Committee’s previous visits to these small harbours in the Western Cape from 19 to 21 June and 30 July to 3 August 2017 respectively. The aim was to review the status of the small harbours in the Western Cape. This included: management; repair and maintenance; leasing and job creation efforts at the small harbours

The Committee Content Advisor took Members through the report.

Members highlight minor amendments to be made to the report.

Ms L Mjobo (ANC) moved to adopt the report and Ms M Hicklin (DA) seconded the motion.

The report was duly adopted.

Committee minutes dated 22 February, 15 March, 22 March and 29 March 2023.

The Committee discussed logistics for the next day’s oversight visit.

The meeting was adjourned.
