Infographic: Parliament 2016 - second term review

With the second term term (4 April to 27 May 2016) of Parliament done and dusted, the People’s Assembly takes a look at some of the Legislature’s activities from this period. The review provides a snapshot of the number of working days, bills processed, oral replies by the President and petitions considered by the Select Committee Petitions and Executive Undertakings.

Parliament will be reopening on 16 August 2016, after the 2016 Municipal Elections and after an extended 10-week leave period.

The second term of 2016 was one month shorter than the the 2015 second term with 153 less meetings taking place comparatively. The President signed 2 Bills into law while 4 new Bills have been introduced. The President also answered oral questions in Parliament once in the second term.
