About Marian Robin Shinn

Ms Shinn was born, raised and completed her education in Zimbabwe. She moved to South Africa in 1971 to start a career in journalism at the Rand Daily Mail. Ms Shinn has worked as a journalist for various newsrooms including The Star, Sun Tribune, Sunday Times and Sunday Express, where after she proceeded into IT trade journalism. This shift led Ms Shinn to win the first IT Journalism of the Year Award in 1984. Ms Shinn joined the Democratic Party in 1998 and served as chairperson of the party’s branch in Ward 64 and is a member of the South Peninsula constituency. Ms Shinn served as Shadow Minister of Telecommunication Communications and Postal Services for the DA in the Fifth Parliament (2014 - 2019). Source: DA (http://www.da.org.za).
