What is your view of Minister Nhlanhla Nene’s first budget?

The survey ran for 15 days, since the budget speech on 25 February 2015. Results showed that the majority of the voters were unhappy with the budget speech. Equal votes of 23.08% were for "Disappointing. Tough times ahead for South Africa" and "Too hard on the vulnerable". However, 34.62% of the voters said the budget was tough but fair. The rest (19.22%) did not agree with any of the options presented.

The removal of EFF members from SONA 2015 was:

The survey showed that with 12.5%, very few of our voters thought that the removal of EFF members from the House was warranted. The rest of the votes were split equally between voters saying that the incident was unfortunate but necessary for the SONA to continue, and the rest saying that the removal was unnecessary - the Speaker should have suspended proceedings.

What is you favourite moment of the House sittings for 2014?

The survey showed that the majority of our voters (58.93%) thought the highlight of the sittings was MPs asking the President to "pay back the money" the money used for his Nkandla estate. Second, with 16.07%, was opposition parties asking the Speaker to step down. 10.71% voted for the motion demanding the President be censured, 8.93% for filibustering, 3.57% for the suspension of the EFF members, and 1.79% for the Deputy President's consistency in replying to oral questions.

The survey ran for just over a month, with the majority of our voters (41%) saying that the EFF was justified in acting out in the NA. Interestingly, 24% of our voters - the second highest vote - said that the EFF's disturbances in Parliament were distracting from the country's real problems. See stats below:

Should maintenance defaulters be blacklisted by credit bureaus - as proposed by DTI?

The survey ran for just over a month, with 69.7% of our voters calling for maintenance defaulters to be blacklisted, while 30.3% disagreed with the DTI's proposal.

What should the new administration focus on?

The survey ran for one month. 42.65% of our voters have said that the new administration should focus on the economy and jobs, while 25% said the focus should be corruption. This was followed closely by 23.53% who voted for education. The rest went to crime and health, who each received 4.41% of the vote.

After the elections, what are you excited about?

The third poll ran for about 3-4 weeks. 43% of our voters said they were excited about the emergence of the EFF, while 36% said they were excited about the growth of the official opposition party. Only 6% said they were excited about the continued dominance of the ANC, while 15% said they were excited about the representation of smaller parties in Parliament.

Will you be voting in the upcoming election?

The survey ran for approximately one month. 56% of our voters said, "Yes, I believe that my political party will bring change", while 24% said "Yes, although I am not happy with any of the choices". 3% said they will spoil their ballot, 3% were undecided, 6% were uninterested, and 7% said there was no party they wanted to vote for, or they thought that their vote would not make a difference.

Do you know where your local constituency office is?

Our first poll ran for 8 weeks and in that time 378 people submitted their opinion. 300 people (79%) DIDN'T know where their local constituency office is, and only 78 (21%) did know.
